When is Apple Pay available for My Trustco Bank Debit Card?
Starting 08/02/16 Apple Pay is available for all Trustco Debit Card holders that have an eligible Apple Phone/Device.
What is Apple Pay?
Apple Pay is a payments feature integrated into the Wallet app on Apple iOS devices that allows you to add your Trustco Debit Card to Apple Pay to make purchases at retailers that are participating within their stores, using Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, or in app.
How does Apple Pay work?
To add your eligible Trustco Debit Card to Apple Pay, follow the Apple Pay instructions(Opens Overlay). Apple Pay provides the same benefits and protection as your actual physical debit card, with the convenience of making secure transactions on your phone/device. Use Apple Pay anywhere contactless payments are accepted and to make purchases in app with participating apps. For more details, please see the Apple Pay instructions(Opens Overlay).
Is My Card Information Safe Using Apple Pay?
Apple Pay assigns, encrypts and securely stores a Unique Device Account Number on your iPhone. When you make a purchase, that number and an individual transaction security code is used to process your payment. Your card number is never stored on your device, and when you pay your Trustco Debit Card numbers are never sent to merchants.
Is My Phone/Device Compatible with Apple Pay?
Apple Pay is compatible with the following Apple devices: iPhone® 6, iPhone® 6S, iPhone® 6 Plus, iPhone® 6S Plus, and Apple Watch™. Apple Pay may also be used in-app with your iPhone® 6, iPhone® 6S, iPhone® 6 Plus, iPhone® 6S Plus, iPad Air™ 2, iPad Pro, iPad mini 3, and iPad mini™ 4.
How do I get Apple Pay on My Phone/Device?
Apple Pay is integrated into the Wallet app, which is pre-installed on your device. You will have the ability to add your Trustco Debit Cards by using the camera on the device to capture your card details (follow the on-screen instructions) or by entering them manually.
How do I change my default card to my Trustco Debit Card on My Phone/ Device?
The first card you add to Wallet will be your default method of payment when using Apple Pay. Changing the default card for Apple Payments to your Trustco Debit Card is easy to do.
Go To: Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay > Default Card > Select Trustco Debit Card
Using Apple Pay?
In-Store Purchase- To make an in-store purchase with your Apple device, please hold your iPhone near the checkout reader with your finger on Touch ID®. A subtle vibration and beep confirms your payment is completed. To make an in-store purchase with your Apple Watch, double-click the side button and hold the face of your device near the contactless reader. A gentle pulse and tone confirm that the payment is completed.
In-App Purchases- To make a purchase in-app with your Apple device, select Apple Pay as the payment option in the app with your finger on Touch ID®.
Where you can use Apple Pay
Apple Pay is available at more than a million stores and in merchant apps. Just look for the Apple Pay logo at check out.
Are there any Fees using a Trustco Debit Card with Apply Pay?
There are no charges to use Apple Pay from Trustco Bank; however, an active data plan is required. Based on your wireless plan and mobile carrier's service, additional message and data charges may apply. Your debit card Deposit Account Agreement will apply for purchases. Trustco Bank does not charge any fees to add your card to Apple Pay.
Can I Use Apple Pay on My Apple Watch?
Yes. Apple Pay on the Apple Watch is not set up through Wallet app. You can load your Trustco Debit Card to the Apple Watch app on the paired iPhone device. An alert will then be displayed on the watch when the card is activated.
Can I use Apple Pay outside of the United States?
Yes, as long as you're shopping at a participating retailer, Apple Pay will work outside the United States. Based on your wireless plan and mobile carrier's service, additional message data charges and transaction fees may apply.
Explain Near Field Communication (NFC)?
Near Field Communication (NFC) is a short-range wireless technology that allows two devices to exchange payment information at close proximity. Apple Pay uses NFC technology to transmit payment information from your phone to the payment terminal.
